Weather Department Warns of Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall in These States; People Asked to Stay Indoors

A day after rain devastated Mumbai, the city has recently observed a decrease in rainfall. However, showers were reported at several locations during the intervening night. As per the report, Total five people have lost their lives so far in rain-related incidents in the city, as the southwest monsoon got active again after a brief lull last week.

A day after rain devastated Mumbai, the city has recently observed a decrease in rainfall. However, showers were reported at several locations during the intervening night. As per the report, Total five people have lost their lives so far in rain-related incidents in the city, as the southwest monsoon got active again after a brief lull last week.

On the other hand, the national capital will remain partly cloudy during the day with the minimum temperature recorded at 28.2 degrees Celsius.  

The Meteorological department said. “The skies will turn cloudy later in the day. There is a possibility of light rain today. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius,” a meteorological (MeT) department official said.

India Meteorological Department released a report on their website predicting heavy to very heavy falls over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Telangana and Odisha during next 24 hours and over Gujarat state during next 2-3 days.

It also alerted the extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa & Telangana during next 24 hours and over Saurashtra & Kutch on 8th & 9th Sept.

The report said, “Under the above conditions, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls likely over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Telangana and Odisha during next 24 hours and over Gujarat state during next 2-3 days. Extremely heavy rainfalls at isolated places are also likely over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa & Telangana during next 24 hours and over Saurashtra & Kutch on 8th & 9th Sept.”
