The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday (27 June 2021) released a fresh weather alert predicting very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms in various states across the country for next 5 days - until 1st July.

Weather department said due to the influence of strong moist southwesterly winds, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over West Bengal and Sikkim and Northeastern states for next 5 days.

South-west monsoon's northern limit continues to pass through Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. The further progress of South-west monsoon into remaining areas of Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi is unlikely during this period.
