Weather Forecast: IMD Issues Heat Wave Conditions Alert over These States; Delhi-NCR Temperature Exceeds 45

Heatwave conditions over some parts with the severe heatwave at isolated pockets very likely over Rajasthan and heatwave conditions in some parts very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and Vidarbha during next 4-5 days, says Indian weather forecast department alerting for heatwave conditions across the country.

Severe heatwave at isolated pockets is very likely over Rajasthan while heatwave conditions very likely to prevail over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and Vidarbha during next 4-5 days, says Indian weather forecast department alerting for heatwave conditions across the country.

Moreover, heatwave conditions in isolated pockets very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and southern parts of Uttar Pradesh during next 4-5 days while over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Telangana during next 3 days, says the report. Heatwave condition is likely to develop over Marathwada and Rayalseema after 24 hours.

Heavy to very Heavy Rainfall to Lash over the Northeastern States

On the contrary, Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls likely at isolated places over parts of northeastern states and Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over adjoining parts of east India during 24th-27th. Heavy rainfall at isolated places over parts south peninsular India during 26th-27th May 2020.

As per yesterday’s reports, rain/thundershowers observed (from 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of today): at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad and Assam & Meghalaya; at isolated place over Himachal Pradesh, Tamilnadu & Puduchery, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

Rainfall recorded (from 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of today) (1 cm or more): Pashighat-4; Itanagar-3; Minicoy & Baderwah-1 each.

Thunderstorm observed (From 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of today ) at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, GilgitBaltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Tamilnadu.

Today, Heat wave conditions observed over many parts of Vidarbha; at isolated pockets over Haryana & Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Gujarat state.

Maximum Temperature Departures as on 23-05-2020 are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Punjab and Haryana while minimum temperatures are markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over East Rajasthan.
