Weather Forecast Today: Rainfall Activities Likely to Increase in These Northeastern States of India

Light to moderate rain is expected to lash Vadodara, Ahmedabad in the next 24 hours, as per the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) report. Mumbai on Monday has received its highest rainfall while breaking its previous record for the highest amount of seasonal rain between June and September, receiving 3,341 mm rain.

Light to moderate rain is expected to lash Vadodara, Ahmedabad in the next 24 hours, as per the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) report. Mumbai on Monday has received its highest rainfall while breaking its previous record for the highest amount of seasonal rain between June and September, receiving 3,341 mm rain. On the other hand, Gujarat received an average rainfall of 113.5 % during this monsoon season, with 149 mm in the month of September itself. 

As per IMD report, the rainfall activity is expected to increase in the northeastern states, Bihar, and parts of Uttar Pradesh. The weather agency also predicts that rainfall activity over the eastern coast of India, including Chhattisgarh, and the west coast is likely to reduce. 

On Monday, most places in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Lakshadweep, some places in Kerala and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands have experienced good rainfall and thundershowers. 

Meanwhile, yesterday rain lashed a few places over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in East Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal, Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
