Heatwave conditions very likely over Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh during next 5 days with severe heat wave in isolated pockets over West Rajasthan during next 24 hours, says the weather forecast of Indian Meteorological Department.

Heat wave conditions very likely over Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh during the next 5 days with a severe heatwave in isolated pockets over West Rajasthan during next 24 hours, says the weather forecast of Indian Meteorological Department. Moreover, heat wave conditions are very likely over parts of peninsular India and Vidarbha during next 2-3 days. On the other hand, heat wave conditions are likely to develop over southern parts of Uttar Pradesh during next 24 hours.

As per yesterday’s reports, rain/thundershowers observed at most places over Arunachal Pradesh; at many places over Assam & Meghalaya and at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. Rainfall recorded (from 0830 to 1730 hours IST of yesterday) (1 cm or more): Goalpada & Cherrapunji-2 each; Cooch Behar, Silchar, Dibrugarh, Passighat-1 each. Thunderstorm observed ( From 1130 hours IST of yesterday to 0530 hours IST of today ) at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and North Interior Karnataka.
Yesterday, Heatwave conditions were observed at isolated places over West Rajasthan.
Maximum Temperature Departures as on 22-05-2020 were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Punjab while Minimum temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Rajasthan and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh.
