Weather India! Heavy Rain along with Thunderstorm Likely to Lash over These States from 7th April

The Western Disturbance seen as a trough in mid and upper tropospheric westerlies which is likely to affect northwest India during 6th-8th April 2020, says the morning weather forecast report. As per Indian Meteorological Department, scattered to fairly widespread rain/thundershowers is likely to lash over Western Himalayan region on 7th & 8th and over Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi on 7th April under this western disturbance.

On the other hand, isolated thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, hail & gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) likely over Western Himalayan region during 7th & 8th April and over Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi during 6th & 7th April 2020.  Moreover, isolated to scattered rainfall/thunderstorm accompanied by lightning likely over east, northeast India and southern peninsula during 7th & 8th April 2020.

As per yesterday’s report, rain/thundershowers observed at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, thunderstorms observed (1730 hours IST of yesterday to 0530 hours IST of today) at isolated places over Vidarbha, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

As per the report, the maximum temperature was appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Jammu & Kashmir and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; at a few places over Assam & Meghalaya while minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Madhya Maharashtra; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Coastal & North Interior Karnataka.
