Starting with North India, a western disturbance is lying over the northern parts of Jammu & Kashmir and adjacent Pakistan. Because of the presence of this system, there will be light rainfall and thundershowers at scattered places of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh will mainly remain dry and warm. But, there could be short spells of light rains at isolated places.

Weather in Delhi

If we talk about the National Capital then the temperature & humidity levels in city are expected to increase with only scattered spells of light rains predicted for the next 2 to 3 days by the weather department. A Skymet Weather official said that the monsoon trough has now shifted to Rajasthan but it will again move towards Delhi as well its neighboring regions on 31 July, bringing more rainfall.

Wet conditions may lead to localised showers in Delhi today (29th July 2019) and temperatures are expected to increase in the absence of widespread rains.  The Indian Meteorological Department has also predicted very light showers or thundershowers for Monday and an increase in temperatures.

Now coming towards Central India, the axis of Monsoon Trough is crossing across central parts of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and then to Northwest Bay of Bengal. In conjunction with this system, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Central regions of Rajasthan and another is over central parts of Chhattisgarh. Because of these systems, South Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha will experience heavy rainfall at many places while remaining areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will witness light to moderate showers along with thundershowers.

Southern Rajasthan & Gujarat including Kutch will get moderate spells of rainfall and thundershower at few places. Owing to this active Monsoon conditions, Goa and Konkan will receive moderate to heavy showers at many places.

Mumbai Rain Forecast

According to Met Department, Mumbai will experience "extremely heavy rainfall" on 29th July (Monday) at isolated places in Raigad district neighbouring Mumbai & "heavy to very heavy rainfall" at some places in Mumbai city & suburban districts. The IMD yesterday had predicted that the entire state would get widespread rainfall on 29 July.

Satara, Pune, Kolhapur & Nashik Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Dhule, Aurangabad, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, Jalna and Osmanabad will witness high intensity rainfall today.

Now coming towards East India, the Low-Pressure Area that was lying over Jharkhand has now weakened but another Cyclonic Circulation has developed over Northwest parts of the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, parts of Jharkhand and Odisha will experience light to moderate rainfall & thundershower. Weather in Bihar and West Bengal will remain warm. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains and thundershowers will continue over many areas of Northeast states with isolated heavy showers over Manipur Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and upper Assam. Kolkata will stay warm and humid with chances of light rains.

In Southern India, because of the presence of a Cyclonic Circulation over Central parts of Chhattisgarh & another over northern Bengal, Telangana & northern Andhra Pradesh will get moderate to heavy rainfall & thundershower at several places. Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu & Kerala are expected to remain warm and dry. Chennai will also stay dry and warm while Bengaluru will remain moist.
