Weather India: Heavy Rainfall Likely in Bihar, Jharkhand; Delhi, Haryana to Witness Scattered Rains & Thundershowers

Starting with South India - moderate rainfall with isolated heavy spells could occur over Coastal Karnataka. Also there could be 1 or 2 short spells of showers over Coastal Andhra Pradesh. However rainfall will reduce over Telangana. People in Tamil Nadu & South Interior Karnataka will witness almost dry weather while interior Karnataka might receive light rainfall at some places. Moderate rainfall is likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Chennai and Bengaluru will remain mainly dry.

Weather in Delhi

Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand are expected to receive moderate rainfall. But, these rains will remain confided to the Southern districts. Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh will also witness scattered rains & thundershowers. Residents in the national capital will face dry and humid weather till weekend. However, temperature in the entire Northwest India may drop by two to three degrees.

Talking about central India, the axis of Monsoon Trough is moving from Northwest Rajasthan to Northeast India crossways North Madhya Pradesh & South Uttar Pradesh. A Cyclonic Circulation can also be seen over Southeast Uttar Pradesh. Moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are expected over North & Eastern parts of Rajasthan. People in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh will experience moderate showers. Rain activities will now reduce in Vidarbha and Marathwada. Meanwhile, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa will continue to witness moderate to heavy rainfall.

Mumbai Rain

Mumbai has received good rainfall this year is likely to experience few short spells today as well. A civic official said, Vehar lake, one of the 7 reservoirs supplying water to the city has started overflowing after heavy showers in the last few days.

Coming towards East India, owing to the shifting of eastern end of axis of Monsoon Trough, rainfall will now start over East Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Bihar & Jharkhand. Meanwhile, good rainfall will continue over the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim and Meghalaya. Remaining part of Northeast India will receive light showers with one or two moderate spells. Rains will stay subdued over Odisha. Lastly weather in Kolkata will remain very humid and chances of rains are very less.
