Weather India: Heavy Rainfall & Thunderstorm to Continue in These States; Remaining Parts Will Remain Dry
Weather system across India A Western Disturbance continues over northern parts of Jammu & Kashmir. A Cyclonic Circulation is lying over southwest Rajasthan and adjacent areas while another Cyclonic Circulation persists over south Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas. On the other hand, a Low-Pressure Area lies over north Madhya Pradesh and neighboring areas of southern parts of central Uttar Pradesh. An offshore trough is extending from Karnataka coast to Kerala.

A Western Disturbance continues over northern parts of Jammu & Kashmir. A Cyclonic Circulation is lying over southwest Rajasthan and adjacent areas while another Cyclonic Circulation persists over south Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas.
On the other hand, a Low-Pressure Area lies over north Madhya Pradesh and neighboring areas of southern parts of central Uttar Pradesh. An offshore trough is extending from Karnataka coast to Kerala.
Since last 3 to 4 days a Low-Pressure Area which is lying over Bay of Bengal has given very good or heavy rainfall in many parts of Madhya Pradesh. In addition, during the last 24 hours, the system has further intensified into a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area. At first, it was persistent over eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh affecting cities like Jabalpur and Satna with very heavy showers. However, during the last 24 hours, Guna city also received heavy rains.
Presently, many districts of Madhya Pradesh including Sagar, Mandsaur, Damoh are also experiencing intense flooding. Several other districts of Madhya Pradesh are seeing flash floods. Rescue teams have been already deployed at those places.
According to weather department, moderate to heavy rainfall with one or two very heavy spells are likely to occur over West Madhya Pradesh, Southwest Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and parts of Coastal Karnataka in the next 24 hours.
Moreover, light to moderate showers with one or two heavy spells may take place over Konkan, Goa, Kerala, parts of Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand.
Weather Delhi
Met department said there will be scattered light to moderate rainfall over parts of Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi today. The national capital will receive light to moderate showers accompanied by thunderstorm on Friday (16 August). Weather department said the situation will prevail for the next 2 days.
The regional weather forecasting head of IMD, Kuldeep Srivastava told “There are possibilities of moderate to heavy rainfall across Delhi in the weekend”. Delhiites experienced a humid day on 15th August 2019 with light showers in few areas in the morning hours.
Bihar, Jharkhand, North Odisha, West Bengal and Northeast India will receive moderate rainfall in the weekend. Lastly, southern states including Kerala and Karnataka may also witness light showers.
