Weather India: IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert in These States; Temperature in Delhi Dips after Continuous Shower

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of good rainfall in the whole of North India. Today, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Delhi and other parts may receive widespread rainfall.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today said that several parts of the country will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next two-three days. Moreover,
the low-pressure area over north Coastal Odisha and neighbourhood. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and become more organized during next 2-3 days, says reports.

The monsoon trough is active and lies near its normal position. it is likely to be in active phase during next 4-5 days. High convergence between strong southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea and monsoon trough at lower levels very likely over northwest and central India during next 4-5 days.

Heavy Rain Likely over These Places in Next 24 hours

Under the above scenario,

Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places very likely over major parts of northwest India (Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh) during next 2 days and decrease thereafter.

Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places very likely over Gujarat state, Konkan & Goa, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, East Rajasthan and parts of central India during next 4-5 days. Isolated extremely heavy falls also likely over Gujarat state & East Rajasthan during next 2-3 days and over ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during next 24 hours.

Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places very likely over Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 2-3 days.
Moderate to Severe thunderstorm accompanied with lightning very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, East Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during next 24 hours.

Maximum & Minimum Temperature:

Maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad while Minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over
West Rajasthan and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.
