Weather India: Many States Including Delhi, Gujarat to Witness Heavy Rainfall Today; Alert Issued
The National Capital experienced a hot, sultry day yesterday (26 August 2019), even as the Met department has forecast heavy rains for Tuesday in the national capital. The weather department said that the maximum as well as minimum temperatures in city will be settling around 36 & 26 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum temperature in Delhi on 26th August 2019 was recorded 2 notches above the normal at 35.5 degrees Celsius. According to weather dept official, "The minimum temperature settled at 25.7 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year."
Weather Delhi:

The Safdarjung observatory recorded 2.8 mm rainfall and the Ridge area received 5.2 mm rainfall. Lodhi Road, Aya Nagar and Palam observatory and observatories recorded zero rainfall on Monday. On Sunday (25 August), the minimum temperature was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius & the maximum temperature was 36.2 degrees Celsius.
The centre-run System of Air Quality & Weather Forecasting (SAFAR), recorded "satisfactory" air quality & it is expected to be in the "good" category in the next 2 days. SAFAR said, "Clean easterly winds with isolated showers have led to improvement in Air Quality Index (AQI). Scattered light rainfall over a few places in Delhi is likely for the next 2 days”.
Kerala weather
Talking about South, here the monsoon rains have returned back to Kerala. It is not heavy in nature but moderate showers have been lashing the state for the past few hours. The weather conditions will continue to be favorable for moderate rainfall with few intense spells over the state for next few days.
Kozhikode has recorded 46.6 mm rainfall, followed by Kochi 46.4 mm, Alappuzha 39.8 mm, Thiruvananthapuram 37 mm & Kannur 27.4 mm. Met Department said a feeble off-shore trough is running along the coast. This together with strong westerly winds from the Arabian Sea has been conducive for rainfall over many parts of Kerala.
Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall with thunderstorms are expected over Gujarat, whereas heavy to very heavy showers are likely over east Rajasthan. West Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Maharashtra and Goa will also receive heavy rainfall.
Northeast states including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha and Jharkhand will get fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms.
