The weather in India is gradually changing as the spring season is approaching. The transition is leading to showers in many regions of India. Many states in the east and northeast India are witnessing medium to heavy rainfall, as stated by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The state of Odisha might experience heavy showers today.

The eastern quarter of the country is set to experience rains because of the intensification of the confluence of middle-latitude westerly winds and lower-level easterlies coming from the Bay of Bengal. This system will bring scattered to fairly widespread rains over east India while northeastern India might expect fairly widespread to widespread rains and thunderstorms.

Talking about Odisha, total rainfall of 70 mm or more is expected over the state. Some highland regions of Arunachal Pradesh might also expect 30-40 cm snowfall in 48 hours until Thursday morning.

After the passage of the cyclonic circulation, there is going to be a dense fog over Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. There is also going to be a western disturbance and will affect the weather over northern India.

The states of Northeast India including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and West Bengal, along with Odisha and Jharkhand will all witness a fairly widespread rainfall. The rains will intensify by Wednesday.

Other than the east and northeast India, the Southern Indian states like Kerala and coastal Karnataka will also be drenched in rainfall for the next few years.
