Weather Report: Rainfall to Continue in Odisha, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat; Air Quality in Delhi to Deteriorate

Beginning with South India - a frail off-shore Trough is extending from South Konkan & Goa to Kerala, hence there could be moderate rainfall with one or two heavy spells over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, North-coastal Andhra Pradesh & few parts of Telangana. Andaman & Nicobar Islands will also experience moderate to heavy rainfall. Monsoon rains will remain Subdued over Interior parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema & Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, Chennai and Bengaluru will get isolated light rains.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands will also experience moderate to heavy rainfall. Monsoon rains will remain Subdued over Interior parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema & Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, Chennai and Bengaluru will get isolated light rains.

In Central India, a Cyclonic Circulation is lying over Gujarat. As a result, moderate rainfall with one or two heavy spells is possible over Gujarat, eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh & Vidarbha. Scattered light to moderate showers are expected over remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Southeast Rajasthan, Konkan & Goa. Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada will also get light rainfall at some places. On the other hand, Mumbai rains will now reduce with only patchy showers at some places. Weather department has ruled out heavy rains here.

Talking about Northwest part of India, here Subdued Monsoon conditions will persist over states like Delhi, Haryana, North Rajasthan & many parts of Punjab. Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand could get good rainfall with one or two heavy spells. Northern districts of Punjab, Haryana & Western parts of Uttar Pradesh might receive patchy rains & thundershowers. Weather in Delhi will remain warm & humid with possibility of one or short spells of rains. But the air quality in the national capital might reach poor levels.

A Low-Pressure Area is also prevalent over Odisha. The Axis of Monsoon Trough is extending from Rajasthan to the Bay of Bengal. Hence, moderate to heavy rainfall will continue over Odisha. Scattered light to moderate showers are likely over West Bengal, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim & Northeast states. East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will receive light rainfall at some places. Kolkata city could also receive light rains.
