Weather Report: Snowfall Expected in Gulmarg, Kargil, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand; Heavy Rainfall in Assam, Madhya Pradesh

Finally snowfall season has started over the hilly states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Higher regions of these states have already recorded snowfall in past last few days. As per weather department officials, a fresh Western Disturbance is marked over North Jammu & Kashmir and neighboring areas. Due to this, weather conditions have become favorable for rainfall & thundershowers.

Finally snowfall season has started over the hilly states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Higher regions of these states have already recorded snowfall in past last few days. 

As per weather department officials, a fresh Western Disturbance is marked over North Jammu & Kashmir and neighboring areas. Due to this, weather conditions have become favorable for rainfall & thundershowers. 

Snowfall is likely to take place over the higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand. In addition, places like Gulmarg, KargilKeylong, Kedarnath, Badrinath and Uttarkashi have possibility of recording early spells of snowfall this year. 

In the meantime, the middle as well as lower reaches of these hilly states would experience scattered light to moderate rainfall & thundershowers. Places like Pahalgam, Srinagar, Manali, Shimla, Mussoorie and Dharamshala would witness rains and thundershowers in the next 2-3 days. Weather department said as we advance in the season the frequency and the intensity of Western Disturbances will increase. At present, these Western Disturbances will move across the higher latitudes.

The traffic movement was affected on the Manali-Leh Highway - between Rani Nallah and Rohtang Pass after snowfall in these regions today morning. Hence all the buses on Keylong-Manali route have been stopped for some time.

Talking about other parts of India, light to moderate rainfall along with thundershowers is expected over many parts of Maharashtra, Southwest Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, East Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Northeast states. Rainfall is also possible over Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, & North Andaman and Nicobar islands.  Some areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Assam and Nagaland will receive heavy rainfall. Isolated light rain will be seen in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. 

On the other hand, weather in Delhi will be dry and warm during the daytime but it will be pleasant at night.  Rain can be expected in a day or two.
