Weather Today Highlights: These States Likely to Witness Heavy Rainfall, Delhi Sizzles at 37 Degree Celsius

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh for the next 24 hours. Other states like Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Goa, and Konkan region are also likely to be hit by heavy showers, says IMD report updated by the weather department recently.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh for the next 24 hours. Other states like Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Goa, and Konkan region are also likely to be hit by heavy showers, says IMD report updated by the weather department recently. 

The weather department also warned of thunderstorms at isolated places in Bihar, Odisha, Assam, and Meghalaya. As per the report, a cyclonic circulation is forming over the Northeast region as well as West Bengal. Meanwhile, the national capital recorded 37.5 Degree Celsius in the last 24 hours which marked it as the second-highest temperature recorded in Delhi since the last 10 year and rains have become scarce. 

The latest IMD report says, “The Low-Pressure area lies over north Madhya Pradesh & adjoining southwest Uttar Pradesh. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 4.5 km above mean sea level. The monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Ganganagar, Alwar, the centre of a low-pressure area over north Madhya Pradesh and adjoining southwest Uttar Pradesh, Satna, Daltonganj, Jamshedpur, Digha and hence east southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal.” 

Under the influence of above systems, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with heavy to very falls at isolated places very likely to occur over Madhya Pradesh during next 2-3 days; over Odisha during next 48 hours. 

Rain/Thundershowers observed (from 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of yesterday) at most places over East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, and Assam & Meghalaya; at many places over Saurashtra & Kutch, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Kerala & Mahe; at a few places over West Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and at isolated places over Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Gujarat Region, Marathwada, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Lakshadweep, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
