Weather Today: Temperature Dips Across North India, Rainfall and Snowfall to Continue in Many States
Weather in India is changing with the onset of winter season. The northern part of the country is witnessing snowfall or rainfall since last few days. Also many southern states, mainly Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are receiving continuous heavy rainfall.

Talking about weather systems across India - A Deep Depression over the South-west Arabian Sea & the equatorial Indian Ocean is now moving towards Somalia. There is a Western Disturbance over North Jammu & Kashmir and its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Central part of Pakistan. Also a Cyclonic Circulation persists over East Bangladesh & Meghalaya. Last but not the least a Low-Pressure Area is lying over Lakshadweep and soon it will become Well-Marked intensifying into a Depression in the next 24 hours.
During the last 24 hours there has been heavy to very heavy rainfall over Lakshadweep. Moderate showers with few heavy spells was witnessed over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and South Madhya Maharashtra received scattered light to moderate rains as well. Isolated light rainfall was also seen over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Konkan, Goa and South Chhattisgarh. The minimum temperature went down by 3-5 degrees in entire North and Central India.
Weather in India in the next 24 hours:
There could be light to moderate rainfall over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. In fact, coastal Karnataka may witness one or two intense spells of rainfall. Light showers is likely over South Telangana, Rayalaseema and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. In addition, there can be scattered light rainfall over Goa, Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra with some isolated showers over Marathwada. South Gujarat, Mumbai and some parts of Northeast India could also experience isolated light rainfall.
Delhi weather
Due to snowfall in hilly regions, weather in Delhi is quite cold especially in the morning and night. Air quality of Delhi has once again deteriorated and stood at ‘very poor’ category on Tuesday.
