A cyclonic circulation over the Southeast Arabian Sea is expected to affect southern states, while a Western Disturbance is bringing rain and snow to northern India. Western Disturbance: Rain and Snow in Northern India

A Western Disturbance over Iran is impacting northern India, bringing snowfall to higher altitudes and rainfall to the plains. This disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region from 18th January, causing isolated to scattered rain and snowfall until 20th January.

Cyclonic Circulation Over Southeast Arabian Sea

A cyclonic circulation persists over the Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean. Its influence is expected to cause notable weather changes in southern India.

Temperature Forecast

A gradual rise of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures is expected over Northwest India, Central India, and Maharashtra in the next three days. However, no significant change in temperatures is anticipated for Gujarat and East India over the next five days. 

Cold Wave and Fog Warnings

Cold wave conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh on 15th January. Additionally, dense to very dense fog is likely to persist in several regions, mainly during night and early morning hours, affecting visibility and requiring caution.

Delhi/NCR Weather Forecast (15th-17th January)

IMD forecasts cloudy skies with light rain, moderate fog in the morning, and clear skies with shallow fog at night for Delhi/NCR.
