From light showers to heavier downpours, parts of North India, the Western Himalayas, and Southern states are expected to experience sporadic rainfall and stormy weather. Along with this, dense fog conditions and a slight rise in temperatures are also predicted, particularly in northern and central parts of the country. Here's a detailed look at the weather forecast for the coming days.

Weather Systems and Rain Forecast

Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulations: A cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and neighboring areas, along with another over southwest Rajasthan, will influence weather patterns. This will result in isolated rainfall, snowfall, and thunderstorms in certain regions.

Temperature Forecast and Cold Wave Alerts

IMD forecasts a rise in minimum temperatures over Northwest and Central India, while East and West India will see no significant changes. Dense fog and cold wave conditions are expected in parts of northern India, especially during the early morning and night hours.

  • Temperature Changes:

    • Northwest India: Minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 2-4°C over the next five days.

    • Central India: A rise of about 2°C is anticipated within the next 24 hours, followed by no significant changes.

    • East & West India: No major temperature fluctuations are expected.

Cold Wave and Dense Fog: Dense fog will continue in several parts, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and other northern regions during the morning and night hours. Cold day conditions are likely in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh on January 16th.
