Weather update: Cold Wave, Fog likely in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, UP and Bihar; Snowfall in Mountains

Due to the constant north and north-eastern winds, the state maintains its coolness at night. A western disturbance has entered North India on Saturday. This has triggered snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Cold Wave in North

Due to constant north and north-eastern winds, the Northern part of Indiaremains cold. In addition, a western disturbance has entered North India on Saturday. This has triggered snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Due to its presence, there will be no significant difference on the temperature on Sunday, but the trend of minimum temperature drop is likely to start from Monday. A thick fog enveloped the capital Delhi this morning. Visibility is very weak from near Rajghat and Punjabi Bagh. 

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi today has a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature is 23 degrees Celsius. Moderate fog was seen in different areas of UP this morning. 

Meteorologist PK Saha said that a western disturbance is currently active in North India. Due to its high frequency, there is tremendous snowfall in the mountains of North India. However, even after its presence, due to the occasional northern wind pattern, the day-night temperature is not increasing relatively. 

On Saturday also, the air temperature remained north and northeast, due to which there was a slight increase in the maximum temperature. On December 28, the Western Disturbance will begin moving forward. At the same time, the wind will also start turning north. 

There could be snowfall in the country in the next 48 hours. The Meteorological Department has released the weather forecast for the next 48 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Kerala in the next 24 hours. At the same time, an active western disturbance will occur in the states of North India from 26 December, due to which, some areas may see light rain. 

In addition, cold wave and fog are being predicted in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and Bihar. At the same time, it is expected that on December 26-27, there may be snowfall and rain in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Uttarakhand.
