Weather Update: Delhi to Experience Cloudy Weather with Mist

Across India, varied weather patterns unfold, from scattered snow in the northeast to isolated rain showers in central and southern regions.

As Delhiites step out today, they can expect a mix of clouds and mist enveloping the city. The maximum temperature is anticipated to reach 30°C, offering a warm respite, while the minimum temperature is expected to drop to 16°C, ensuring a relatively cool evening. The weather forecast suggests that the skies will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day, with a high chance of mist settling in, enhancing the city's ethereal charm.

Varied Weather Patterns Across India

The northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are poised to witness scattered snow/rain, adding a picturesque touch to their landscapes. Meanwhile, isolated snow/rain is probable in Sikkim, offering locals and visitors alike a taste of the region's diverse weather.

Thunderstorms are expected to rumble across Gangetic-West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha, with scattered rain likely to grace these regions. This weather phenomenon brings with it the promise of relief from the scorching heat, albeit accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Isolated rain showers may surprise residents of Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Kerala, offering a refreshing break from the routine.

Detailed Forecast and IMD's Predictions

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts scattered to fairly widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Gangetic West Bengal from March 16-20. There's also a possibility of hailstorms and squalls affecting the region on March 17, 2024.

Similar weather conditions are expected over Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and East Madhya Pradesh regions, with isolated hailstorms anticipated over Vidarbha on March 17-18 and East Madhya Pradesh on March 18-19.

Isolated light rainfall/snowfall is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim areas on March 16, adding a touch of wintry charm to the landscape.

A fresh western disturbance is slated to influence the Western Himalayan Region from the night of March 20, bringing isolated light rainfall/snowfall to Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on March 20-21, Himachal Pradesh on March 21, and Uttarakhand on March 22.

IMD forecasts maximum temperatures above normal in isolated pockets of various regions, with hot and humid weather expected to prevail over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next 2 days and Kerala and Mahe, Rayalaseema during the next 5 days.
