India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across multiple regions, including East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Assam. Isolated extreme downpours are expected in parts of South and Northeast India throughout the week.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a significant rainfall pattern across various regions of India, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in certain areas. East Uttar Pradesh is set to receive extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places, while Bihar, Saurashtra & Kutch, and East Rajasthan are also likely to experience heavy to very heavy downpours. Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Rayalaseema, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, and Mahe.

East and Northeast India

The forecast indicates that Assam and Meghalaya will experience fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Similarly, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will witness scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over the next few days. Additionally, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from October 2 to 4. Odisha will see isolated heavy rain on September 29, while the rest of the northeastern states will continue to experience moderate rain throughout the week.

South India

Rainfall will be fairly widespread in Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, and Lakshadweep, with isolated heavy rainfall expected in South Interior Karnataka on September 29. Kerala and Mahe are expected to face heavy rain from September 29 to October 1. Light to moderate rainfall will also be scattered across Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Rayalaseema during the week.

West and Central India

Central India will see scattered light to moderate rainfall, especially in Konkan & Goa, with heavy rain expected in Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh on September 29. Dry weather is likely to prevail over Saurashtra & Kutch from October 2 onward.

Northwest India

East Uttar Pradesh will face isolated heavy rainfall on September 29. The region will experience light to moderate rainfall early in the week, but dry weather is expected to dominate in the following days.

Residents in the affected areas should remain vigilant and take necessary precautions due to the current weather conditions.
