Weather Warning! Cold Wave Conditions Likely to Prevail over Delhi and Northern States This Week

India Meteorological Department said cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of northwest India, including Delhi, below 10°C this week.

Amid the early arrival of winter, the national capital has reported a persistent drop in the mercury levels. According to India Meteorological Department forecast, the cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of northwest India, including Delhi, below 10°C this week. The early arrival of winter is likely to consolidate further with cold wave conditions over the national capital upto next two days.

Moreover, IMD has recently predicted that India is likely witness a colder and harsher winter this year compare to last years.

Head of Regional Weather Forecasting Centre Kuldeep Shrivastava said, “There will be shallow fog on 5 Nov 2020. The minimum temperature has increased due to the layer of pollution, which does not allow the surface heat to radiate back at night.”

These States are Likely to Get Heavy Rain in next 3-4 Days

On the other hand, a cyclonic circulation lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast and a trough runs from southeast Arabian Sea to Karnataka coast across Lakshadweep area in lower tropospheric levels.

Under its influence:

Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall very likely over Tamilnadu & Puducherry, Kerala & Mahe, South Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep area during next 5 days; Isolated to scattered rainfall over Coastal Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 3-4 days.

Isolated heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorm & lightning also very likely over Tamilnadu during next 5 days and over Kerala during next 24 hours.

Dry Weather to Prevail over These Parts:

According to reports, dry weather very likely to prevail over most parts of north, west and central India and over some parts of east India during next 5 days.

Maximum & Minimum Temperature:

Maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Odisha; above normal while Minimum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
