Weather Warning! Rain, Thundershower, Dust Storm Alert for Two Days in These States

Light rain today morning has brought some relief to Delhiites from the heat conditions. Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Faridabad adjoining Delhi, also, received some rain. However, yesterday, the temperature in Delhi had soared to 40 degrees Celsius.

Light rain today morning has brought some relief to Delhiites from the heat conditions. Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Faridabad adjoining Delhi, also, received some rain. However, yesterday, the temperature in Delhi had soared to 40 degrees Celsius.  

According to IMD, an approaching western disturbances will likely result in dust storm and thunderstorm with gusty winds in some areas over Delhi during the next 24 hours. 

"Thunderstorm/Duststorm accompanied with gusty winds (wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph) and lightning at isolated places is very likely in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan," said the website of the weather department. 

The weatherman mentioned the maximum temperature in Delhi may reach 40 degrees Celsius today. The minimum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius today morning. 

On Saturday also the weatherman has predicted a partly cloudy sky with a possibility of rain or thunderstorm or dust storm. 

Skymet predicts rains accompanied with isolated thundershower activities for entire Northwest India like the states of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi NCR and West Uttar Pradesh. These rains are likely to affect during the next 48 hours, i.e. today and tomorrow.  

Rajasthan has already received scattered rain and thundershower activities during the last 24 hours. The upcoming rain and thundershower activities will not be fairly widespread, but many districts of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan are set to receive these Pre-Monsoon activities. However, the intensity will be light over Delhi NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh. 

Currently, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over Northwest Rajasthan and a Trough is extending up to Western parts of Uttar Pradesh. It gives an indication of ample moisture availability.
