World Emoji Day 2019: Get New Emoji’s On Your Apple & Google Mobile Phones; Exciting Emoji’s & Facts Inside

World Emoji Day is celebrated today (17th July 2019) and to mark the occasion, Apple and Google have revealed their plans to introduce brand-new emoji characters. Though, these new emoji’s will be launched later this year.

World Emoji Day is celebrated today (17th July 2019) and to mark the occasion, Apple and Google have revealed their plans to introduce brand-new emoji characters. Though, these new emoji’s will be launched later this year.  

Interesting Facts of Apple's & Google's New Emojis: 

  • Apple's new emojis will arrive on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch later this year. 

  • Google's new emojis will be available on Android Q. Both these companies are introducing around 60 new emojis this year. They will range from improved handholding couple emojis to other interesting new icons.

  • Adding to it, Apple and Google are improving their handholding couple emojis later this year. We will be able to use these emojis in multiple skin tone and gender variations. According to Apple, it will offer up to 75 different combinations based on skin tone and gender choices. 

New Emoji's

Google said, “An emoji without any specific gender assigned to it in the Unicode documentation will come with a 'gender-ambiguous design'. The users can easily select a male or female variation of over 53 such emojis after it launch.

Lot of disability-themed emojis will come up on both Apple and Google operating systems. Apple said, “It had proposed the new emojis to the Unicode Consortium last year and these were approved earlier this year such emojis include a service dog, different types of wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, hear aids, etc. 

Latest Emoji's

Additional emoji like a new yawning smiley face, food items such as waffle, butter and garlic, falafel, animals like the sloth, flamingo, orangutan, and skunk.  

How to get new emoji’s on your phone? 

Google Pixel phone owners can sign up for the Android Beta program and can try out the upcoming emojis ahead of everyone else. Though, sending these new emojis will be limited to Android Q devices.

Apple stated, “Its new emoji designs based on approved characters in Unicode 12.0 will ship this fall by a free software update on iOS, watchOS, and macOS devices.
