World No Tobacco Day 2020: How to Quit Smoking as Smokers are at Higher Risk of Coronavirus

World No Tobacco Day is celebrated on 31 May every year across the globe which create awareness on reducing the consumption of tobacco or ban its products. The main purpose of this day is to make people aware of the health damage caused by tobacco. According to reports, there are currently more than 7 million deaths worldwide due to tobacco. You may have tried many times to quit smoking or quitting Chewing Tobacco! But after few days you might forgot your own resolution which you once made to yourself.

According to reports, there are currently more than 7 million deaths worldwide due to tobacco. You may have tried many times to quit smoking or quitting Chewing Tobacco! But after few days you might forgot your own resolution which you once made to yourself. 

Hence, we will tell you how you can quit smoking step by step! 

Why we start Smoking cigarettes or Chewing Tobacco? 

First of all you need to realize why people starts smoking cigarettes or Chewing Tobacco . Many times people start smoking cigarettes for fun especially in youth, but later the same fun turned into addiction. Some of the people start smoking cigarettes inspired by others while there are many people who have misconceptions about cigarette smoking that it brings relief to them. 

What is the theme of World No Tobacco Day 2020 ?

This time by the World Health Organization, is to "prevent youth from using tobacco and nicotine, while protecting them from the mischief of the industry." 

Diseases caused by tobacco  

1)  Cancer - Lung and mouth cancer. 

2) Lungs get deteriorated. 

3) Heart disease. 

4) Reduces eyesight 

5) Foul smell from the mouth.

2) If you are a seller then ask yourself that am I earning for this.

Some effective home remedies to quit smoking or Tobacoo 

1) Consume plenty of oats because it removes deadly toxins from the body and reduce the desire smoking. 

2) Drink plenty of water helps to flush out toxins from the body.  

3) Eat pure honey to quit smoking because honey contains vitamins, enzymes and proteins, which will help relieve the habit of smoothing comfortably. 

4) If you feel like smoothing, you can chew it with a toothpaste of liquorice. 

5) Consume red Chili because it eradicates the desire to smoke.  

Five Ways to Quit Cigarettes or tobacco 

1) Tell the people around you that you are going to quit cigarettes or tobacco. 

2) Read about successful people. 

3) Keep fast. 

4) Stop drinking alcohol. 

5) Throw ashtrays and lighters. 

6) Start workout and maintain your diet. 

7) Ask your parents to help you to quit cigarettes. 

When it was celebrated for the first time? 

  • In the year 1987, WHO considered it an epidemic in view of the increase in mortality due to diseases caused by tobacco 

  • This was followed by the WHO anniversary for the first time on 7 April 1988 followed by World Tobacco Prohibition Day on 31 May every year. 

How tobacco and related industries are manipulating youth? 

1) Industries are using different flavours that are attractive to youth in tobacco and nicotine products. 

2) The designs of various tobacco products are attractive and have sleek designs which catches the eye of the youth. 

3) There are many industries which Promotes the products as “reduced harm” or “cleaner” alternatives. 

4) To promote tobacco and nicotine products, there are many influencer or Celebrity sponsorships. 

5) Indirect marketing of tobacco products like in movies, serials etc.
