World Water Day 2022: Raju Kapoor- The Industry Veteran to Address Krishi Jagran’s Webinar on Sustainable Use of Water in Agriculture

Water is one of the most important inputs for Agriculture Production and plays a very important role in achieving food security. FMC, an agriculture sciences company understands its importance and therefore, FMC & Krishi Jagran are organizing a webinar on the occasion of World Water Day on 22 March 2022 with the theme “Sustainable Use of Water in Agriculture”, 3.00 PM onwards. it will be streamed live on Krishi Jagran's Official Facebook Page.

This webinar will be attended and addressed by notable experts from the industry including Raju Kapoor, Director (Corporate Affairs), FMC India. He has 34 years of rich experience in the agriculture and chemical industry across various verticals and functions covering crop protection, fertilizers, PGRs, seeds, animal nutrition and health products. Graduated from GB Pant University in Agriculture & Animal husbandry, Raju is an MBA in Marketing.

He is a keen contributor to the sustainability of food systems and agriculture and a prominent speaker on such matters. He has been actively involved in the areas of Public Policy, communication, marketing, supply chain management and general business management in his career.

Points to be discussed in the webinar:

  • Assess seasonal water availability - surface and groundwater- at the village level

  • Assess current & projected water demand for domestic, agricultural, livestock, and livelihood purposes

  • Match current water availability to demand

  • Choose crops and cropping patterns based on net water availability while keeping household food security and market (income) needs in mind

  • Introduce water-saving technologies such as drip irrigation, sprinklers, and mulching, and encourage more water harvesting

  • A shift from a supply-driven to a demand-side management approach
