Yellow Alert For Seven States; Here Is What IMD Predicts For Your Region
This month of April, the national capital, as well as regions of western Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand, have been enjoying extremely hot weather.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rains and thunderstorms across Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana beginning May 2, which might provide a much-needed respite from the sweltering heat.
Rain and thunderstorms are expected in Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana from May 2 to 4. According to senior IMD scientist RK Jenamani, this is expected to reduce the temperature range to 36 to 39 degrees Celsius.
According to the meteorological department, a cyclonic circulation system will form in the Andaman Sea on May 4, followed by low pressure on May 5, and maximum temperatures will decline as a result. Temperatures have already dropped in eastern India, according to the official, in states such as Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, and Jharkhand.
"In eastern India, temperatures have already begun to fall somewhat starting yesterday in Odisha, Bihar, Bengal, and Jharkhand."
The day before Yesterday, temperatures in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, and Angul (all in Odisha) reached 44 degrees Celsius (Thursday). "The temperature will begin to fall here today (Saturday)," Jenamani said.
Earlier, the weather department predicted that the temperature in Delhi would climb by 0.5-1 degree Celsius, reaching 46 degrees Celsius in some regions. Temperatures in Haryana may potentially reach 46 degrees Celsius in several places.
From April 29 to May 1, the IMD issued a 'yellow alert' for seven states: western Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, western UP, MP, and Jharkhand.
"A yellow warning is in effect for western Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, western UP, MP, and Jharkhand for three days - April 29, 30, and May 1." From May 2, a shift will occur, as the Western Disturbance approaches, bringing thunderstorms and rain, according to Jenamani.
