“Yuva Shakti is Driving Force of India”: Narendra Modi at National Youth Festival

Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, inaugurated the 26th National Youth Festival on January 12th in Hubbali, Karnataka. The event is being held on National Youth Day, which is celebrated on Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary, to honour and cherish his ideals, teachings, and contributions.

The festival's theme was 'Viksit Yuva - Viksit Bharat,' and it brings diverse cultures from all over the country together on a common platform, uniting participants in the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

 

The Prime Minister told the audience that the Hubbali region of Karnataka is known for its culture, tradition, and knowledge, and that many great personalities have received the Gyanpeeth Puraskar. He stated that this region has given birth to several great musicians, including Pandit Kumar Gandharv, Pandit Basvaraj Rajguru, Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur, Bharat Ratna Bhimsen Joshi, and Pandita Gangubai Hangal, and paid tribute to these individuals.

The Prime Minister emphasised the significance of National Youth Day in the year 2023, saying that on the one hand, there is the exuberant National Youth Festival, and on the other, there is the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. "Arise, awake, and do not stop until the goal is attained," the Prime Minister exclaimed, quoting Swami Vivekananda Ji, and saying that it is the life mantra of India's youth, and that we must emphasise and understand our duties to take the country forward in the Amrit Kaal. The Prime Minister emphasised the youth of India's inspiration from Swami Vivekananda Ji in this endeavour. "On this special occasion, I bow my head at the feet of Swami Vivekananda Ji," the Prime Minister said.

 

Modi emphasised Swami Vivekananda's connection to the state of Karnataka. He mentioned that Swami ji had visited Karnataka several times and that Mysore Maharaja was a major supporter of his visit to Chicago. "Swami ji's Bharat Bhraman is an eternal example of the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat," he said.

"The development of a future and a nation becomes easy when we possess the power of youth," the Prime Minister said, quoting Swami Vivekananda Ji. He stated that Karnataka has bestowed upon the nation numerous personalities who have prioritised their responsibilities to the nation and achieved extraordinary feats at a young age. The Prime Minister cited the courage of Maharani Chinnamma of Chittoor and Sangolli Rayanna, whose courage broke the British Empire's resolve, as well as Narayana Mahadev Doni, who sacrificed his life for the nation at the age of 14 years. He also mentioned Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad, who survived in Siachen at -55 degrees Celsius. Commenting on the country's diverse young talent, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Indian youth is breaking new ground in every field.

 

The Prime Minister stated that India is currently the fifth largest economy and that "our goal is to take it into the top three." The Prime Minister emphasised new opportunities in agriculture and sports, crediting youth power for this revolution. The Prime Minister emphasised the significance of the current moment in the nation's history, saying that solid foundations are being laid in the fields of economy, education, sports, and startups.

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of women's power in maintaining the nation's strength, citing examples of women excelling in the armed forces, space technology, space, and sports.

The Prime Minister emphasised Swami Vivekananda's two messages, which should be a part of every young person's life in today's rapidly changing world. "These two messages are institutions and innovation!" he said. The Prime Minister went on to say that an institution is formed when we expand our ideas and work with team spirit, and he urged today's youth to supplement their individual success with team success. "This team spirit will carry developed India forward as 'Team India," the Prime Minister said.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister stated, "Today, the country's goal is - Viksit Bharat, Sashakt Bharat!" (Developed India, Strong India), emphasising that we will not stop until this dream of a developed India is realized. The Prime Minister expressed his belief that every young person in the country will make this dream their own and take on the responsibility of the country.

 

Thawar Chand Gehlot, Governor of Karnataka, Basvaraj Bommai, Union Ministers Anurag Singh Thakur, Nisith Pramanik, and Ministers from the Government of Karnataka were among those present.
