Of course, holiday time means that there are no diets to be followed and no restriction at all- simply pure indulgence.

Here are the greatest traditional Christmas foods from across the world to get you in the festive spirit, suggesting what you should be exactly eating and preparing to make the most of this festive season.  

Bread & Butter Pudding Recipe: 

Give your Christmas feast a decadent dessert that will amaze all your guests! This easy bread and butter pudding is sugar-free yet sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. 

Ingredients: 

  • 6 slices white bread

  • Butter (for applying)

  • 11/2 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup calorie-free sweetener

  • 2 whisked eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • a pinch of powdered nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp powdered green cardamom

  • 2 tbsp raisins

Recipe: 

  • Preheat the oven at 180 ° C.

  • Apply butter to one side of each, then cut each into four pieces and set aside.

  • In a big sauce pan, heat the milk, then add the low-calorie sweetener and stir until it dissolves. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside to cool slightly. 

  • Place the slices in a baking dish, buttered side up. Set aside.

  • In a sauce pan, break in the eggs, add the vanilla essence, and whisk until thoroughly blended.

  • Stir in the nutmeg powder and green cardamom powder. Pour the mixture immediately on top of the bread.

  • Spread raisins on top and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the baking dish from the oven and set aside to cool slightly. Serve warm or cold. 

 Strawberry Jam Shortbread Biscuit Recipe: 

These delectable shortbread jam cookies are just what your sweet tooth craves. They're buttery, packed with delicious jam, and drizzled with sugar glaze! There is nothing you will not enjoy about this dish; it is simple, quick, and not at all messy. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 cup butter

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 1 Egg

  • Heart-shaped moulds

  • 200 gramStrawberries

  • 50 Gram Sugar

  • 5 Gram Gelatine

 Strawberry Jam Shortbread Biscuit Recipe: 

  1. Begin by making short bread by gently mixing sugar, butter, and flour.

  2. Add an egg once everything has come together to form a dough, dust some more flour and roll it flat like a chapatti. Cut it using a heart-shaped ring mould. Then use a larger cutter to make a layer of shortbread to form the boundaries. 

  3. Bake it at 180°F for about 9 minutes. 

To prepare strawberry jam:  

  1. Blend strawberries and sugar together and add gelatine. Boil it until thick.

  2. Chill the jam down and fill between heart mouldsalong with some generous icing of sugar on it before serving. 

 Slow Cooked Spiced Sangria Recipe: 

Drinking this Sangria is like drinking Christmas! If you want to feel festive, definitely make a batch of this easy, hot sangria and enjoy the holidays. A perfect combination of cinnamon and clove spice. It warms your entire body and serves as a large mug of comfort all over. This Sangria will be ideal for both holiday gatherings and a calm evening. 

Ingredients: 

  • 750 Mlred wine (merlot / zinfandel) 

  • 2 cups apple cider

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1 Orange (zested and juiced)

  • 5 Cloves (whole)

  • 4 Green Cardamom

  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks

  • 1 Anise (whole)

  • 1/4 cup brandy

Recipe: 

  • Add wine, cider, honey, orange zest and orange juice to a pan on flame.

  • Add the cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and star anise. Cook on low flame (simmer the entire process).

  • Stir in the brandy last.

  • Ladle into irish coffee mug or wine goblet with an orange slice and cinnamon stick as garnish. 

Chocolate Fudge Cookies Recipe: 

A chocolate lover's delight, chocolate fudge cookies are wonderfully soft and fudgy from inside with an intense chocolate flavor. The chocolate flavor comes from adding a whooping amount of melted dark chocolate to the batter. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1000 gms dark chocolate coverture 

  • 500 gms butter 

  • 200 gram sugar 

  • 10 Eggs

  • 1250 gms flour 

  • 25 gms baking powder 

  • 5 gram salt 

  • 50 gms cocoa powder 

  • Vanilla Essence

Recipe: 

  • Cream the butter and sugar in the machine

  • Add the melted chocolate and then mix together.

  • Add eggs and vanilla essence.

  • Fold the mixture with flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa powder.

  • Mix together with the chocolate chips. 

  • Roll into cylinders of 4.5 cm diameter and freeze it.

  • Cut the cylinder into 1 cm thick pieces and bake at 180°c for 10 min.

  • Serve and store in an air-tight container.

 Aata Walnut Cookies Recipe: 

These cookies are really light and healthy, and they go great with a hot cup of tea or coffee. This walnut-filled cookie recipe is the quickest and easiest to make when it comes to baking cookies. With only a few readily available ingredients, this recipe yields a wonderful cookie that anybody, regardless of age or circumstance, is bound to crave. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1/2 Cup Butter

  • 1/2 Cup Castor Sugar

  • 1 Cup Aata

  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Coffee Powder

  • 1 Cup Walnuts

Recipe: 

  • Take butter in a big bowl

  • Add castor sugar to it

  • Whisk them thoroughly

  • Add aata, baking powder and coffee powder to the bowl through a sieve

  • Mix and whisk them thoroughly with the butter to make a paste

  • Make doughs out of the mix

  • Make small tikki shaped balls out of the dough. 

  • Add walnuts on top of every ball

  • Bake them at 180 degree Celsius for 15-20 minutes
