The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) annual board exams will start tomorrow (15th February). The Class 10 and Class 12 board exams will be held for around one and half month at various centres across the country. As per the data released by the Board, nearly 31 lakh students have registered to appear in the Board exams this year.

The question papers this year will be handled by the Centre Superintendent (CS) and each exam centre will have one CS along with deputy CS. A total of 4,974 exam centres have been fixed across India, according to the board.

In a letter to the parents and guardians of students appearing for board exams, CBSE has asked to follow few rules during the examinations.

Here are the instructions to follow during board exams

  1. Parents as well as students should carefully go through each and every word on the admit card and follow all the instructions given there. Also see that the parents have signed on it.
  2. Visit the exam centre one day before the start of the board examinations and make sure that it is the right centre.
  3. The students should reach the examination centre on or before 9.45 am and be seated in their respective classrooms before 10 am. The CBSE will not permit any student enter the exam hall after 10 am.
  4. The students should wear their school uniforms during the exams and also carry their school IDs.
  5. They should carry required stationery in a transparent pouch.
  6. Should not carry digital watches, mobile phones, wallets, pieces of paper, books, or anything suspicious at the exam centre.
  7. Comply with all instructions given in the exam hall and maintain proper discipline.
  8. Read the instructions carefully on the Answer Book and fill it accurately.

Parents should try to give a pleasant and comfortable exam experience to their wards and avoid giving them any kind of stress. Parents are also requested not to assemble outside the exam centre and create disturbance for the school as well as children. CBSE has asked for cooperation from both the parents and students.

This year, the board has also launched a short film on its website to help the parents as well as teachers deal with stress. Moreover, counselors and experts will be available throughout the exam period for students via phone, email and video conferencing. The results of the class 10 and 12 board exams will be announced in the last week of May or 1st week of June 2019.

All the Best for the Exams!!!!
