Need to Analyse Women’s Involvement in various Agricultural Sectors, their Needs & Issues

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) visited the ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar to participate in the Swachhta Pakhwada programmes being organized by the institute.

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) visited the ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar to participate in the Swachhta Pakhwada programmes being organized by the institute.    

In his address, the Director General applauded the efforts of institute to give its share and participation in Swachchhta Abhiyan in the villages adopted by it and taking the campaign to Pan-India level with the help of its AICRP (Home Science) units in different states. 

During the meeting with the Staff of ICAR-CIWA, he suggested the implementation of recommendations of QRT headed by Dr. P. Das, former DDG (Agricultural Extension), ICAR, for increasing the visibility of the Institute on a global level. Dr. Mohapatra also stressed on the need for analysing the involvement of women in various agricultural sectors, their needs and issues, etc. 

Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA, in his welcome address, underlined the significance of celebrating Swachhta Pakhwada and briefed the salient research and extension achievements of the Institute. 

The occasion also marked the display of huge human chain formation to protect reckless cutting down of trees, mass cleaning drive and tree plantation sessions for spreading the message of ''Clean India, Green India''. 

The winners in various competitions held as a part of the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, Vigilance Awareness Week and Hindi Pakhwada and best performing farm staff were also felicitated by the Chief Guest during the occasion.
