FMC India, an agricultural sciences business, has introduced Corprima, a new pesticide. Corprima will provide tomato and okra farmers across the country with exceptional crop protection against fruit borers, one of the biggest pain points for Indian farmers, powered by FMC's world-leading Rynaxypyr insect control technology.

About 'Corprima

Corprima, a novel insecticide, has been shown to provide farmers with higher returns on investment by providing longer-lasting pest control and improved flower and fruit retention, resulting in larger, higher-quality harvests.

Every year, tomato farmers across the country lose up to 65 percent of their yields to fruit borers, according to the Indian Institute of Vegetable Research.

This pest infestation causes flower dropping and poor plant health, resulting in poor quality fruiting and a negative impact on crop yields. Corprima claims to provide superior and long-lasting protection against fruit borer pests, saving farmers time, money, and effort in protecting their crops.

According to Ravi Annavarapu, President of FMC India, "the past year saw a record horticultural crop production in the country. Every year, however, tomato and okra farmers suffer significant losses due to fruit borer pests, diseases, and post-harvest losses, among other factors.”

“At FMC, we use innovation to solve farmers' problems by introducing sustainable products and solutions. Corprima's introduction demonstrates FMC's commitment to bringing novel crop protection solutions to farmers. I'm confident that Corprima will help tomato and okra farmers increase their incomes by producing higher-quality yields," he added.

Corprima was launched through a virtual event that was relayed live in five languages- Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada -and was attended by a large number of farmers, retailers, and distributors from all over the country. FMC Corprima Insecticide, available in 6gm, 17gm, and 34gm packs, will meet the crop protection needs of small, marginal, and large farmers. Corprima is now available in major retail outlets.
