In one of his "Mann Ki Baat" radio speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the work of Virendra Yadav, a farmer entrepreneur from Haryana's Kaithal village. Yadav has set a good example for disposing of stubble and profiting from it through his efforts.

Yadav has collected about Rs.2.5 crore in stubble in the last two years and profited approximately Rs.50 lakh from it, according to PM Modi. Yadav lived in Australia before starting his stubble company. He went back to India two years ago. Yadav, like many others, struggled with stubble farming. He attempted to make the most of his stubble.

Yadav's efforts demonstrated a fresh approach to resolving the stubble problem. Yadav purchased a new Straw Baler Machine with financial aid from the state agriculture department. With this, Yadav began producing stubble bales, which he subsequently sold to an agricultural energy plant and a paper mill.

In just two years, Yadav has made a profit of roughly Rs.50 lakh. The Prime Minister further stated that farmers who sold their stubble to Yadav benefited from him as well.

PM Modi, “Sometime ago, Virendra Yadav ji used to live in Australia. Two years ago, he came to India and now lives in Kaithal, Haryana. Just like others, the stubble in the fields was a big concern for him too.”

Further he said, “To find a solution to stubble, Virendra ji bought a Straw Baler machine to make bundles of straw. For this, he also received financial assistance from the Agricultural department. With this machine, he began to make bundles of stubble. After having made the bundles, he sold the stubble to agro energy plants and paper mills. You will be amazed to know that in just two years, Virendra ji has traded in stubble in excess of Rupees Two and a Half Crores and has earned a profit of approximately Rupees Fifty Lakhs.”

PM Modi advised young people studying agriculture to relocate to surrounding areas and educate farmers about modern farming and new farm legislation.

The Prime Minister also praised the new farm regulations and stated that agricultural changes have provided farmers with new options. He also stated that the reforms have given farmers new rights and opportunity.
