Praveen Raghuvanshi of Savri village, Multai tehsil of Betul district, Madhya Pradesh has proved it again. Earlier, who used to work in companies related to agriculture is now earning into millions by beekeeping.
Journey from Private Job to Agripreneurship
Praveen did his MSc in Horticulture (Horticulture) in 2012. After doing post graduation, he worked in many big companies in the agriculture sector. A few years he joined several NGOs and started training students under the motivational program. During this time he always thought that he should do something different.
"I always wanted to do something different in the agricultural sector. As a result, I decided to quit my private sector job and start beekeeping", said enthusiastic Praveen.

Produces 10 Types of Honey
Praveen said that they produce 10 types of honey. Among them, wild flower honey, mustard honey, eucalyptus honey, karanja honey, neem honey, coriander honey and berries honey are prominent. Jamun honey sugar is very beneficial for the patient. Hence there is a good demand in the market of Jamun Honey. They also run training programs for the proper knowledge of beekeeping. He says that farmers can earn extra from the production of honey apart from farming.
European Bee to follow
They follow the European bee species Apis mellifera, in addition to the Indian bee Apis cerana. A box of Indian bees produces 15 to 20 kg of honey in a year. At the same time, 30 to 60 kg of honey can be produced in a year from a European species. A good earning can be made by following the European species of bee.
5 times production in one year
He told that 30 to 60 kg of honey can be produced in a year from a box of European bee. Praveen says that there are about 25 thousand bees in a box. There is a good production of honey in the months of October to February. Boxes of bees are kept near fields in which mustard or other crops have flowered. Bees pollinate and produce honey. Honey can be produced 5 times in a box in a year.
