Originally from Umri village in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, Rituraj Singh's passion for farming stemmed from his family's agricultural legacy. However, it was during the lockdown period, when he was confined to his village due to the pandemic, that his dedication to farming intensified. This pivotal period made him realize the perils of consuming chemically treated produce, propelling him to venture into organic farming.

Transitioning five acres of land into a hub of organic cultivation wasn't without its challenges. Initially, marketing these organic products proved to be an uphill task. Yet, Rituraj's perseverance and commitment led him to connect with consumers and sellers who shared his vision for healthier, chemical-free food. Gradually, his brand, Umri Organic Orchard, gained recognition and popularity among consumers due to the superior taste and health benefits of his produce.

Rituraj primarily focuses on cultivating wheat, paddy, mustard, and sugarcane through completely organic methods, further refining these raw materials into high-quality products like jaggery, sugar, mustard oil, and various fruits and vegetables, including the exotic dragon fruit. This diverse range of offerings has contributed to an annual profit ranging from Rs 15 to 20 lakh.
