Dr Vanita Prasad is an Environmental Biotechnologist with more than 15 yrs of experience in the related field. Having graduated in Science from the University of Delhi, she completed her Master’s and PhD in Biotechnology under Department of Biotechnology and Central Scientific Industrial Research, Govt. of India fellowships.
Dr Prasad has a long association with the industry as Consultant Scientist while heading R&D functions of various waste management companies. She holds patents for specific innovation in the field of Waste Management and Renewable energy.
The Baroda based Startup has developed a cost-effective and indigenous process of treating wastewater, which also releases biogas in the process. Vanita says, she took the time to study more about water-related issues and management across the world.
Soon, she started writing a project on microbial consortia, which can treat wastewater by recovering nutrients as well as energy. The entrepreneur successfully gathered 650 different microbes required for efficient degradation of any biological material into methane, which can be used as biogas.
Vanita submitted this project to BIRAC’s flagship programme, Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) Scheme, which became the foundation for REVY Environmental Solutions in 2016.
REVY Environmental Solutions has answers to all that takes place in every step of the waste management and has proven competency in transforming waste into re-usable resources. Waste treatment and bio-methane production through Anaerobic Digestion (AD) process is the core area of expertise.
They provide Bio-cultures to enhance aeration unit of ETPs for Industrial Waste containing High Phenol and High TDS. Treatability Studies on wastewater from Dairy, Vegetable market waste, Kitchen waste, also on most complex Paper mills, Pharmaceutical, Fertilizer, Dye and Dye Intermediates, Distilleries and Petrochemicals industries adopting pre-treatment, advanced anaerobic treatment, aerobic and tertiary treatment methods.
