59.26 lakh Farmers benefitted from Rythu Bandhu Scheme; Apply Now, Direct Link Inside

Under Rythu Bandhu scheme, the State government has spent Rs 35,676 crore, which has benefitted over 59.26 lakh farmers in the last three years since its launch.

Rythu Bandhu Scheme Update: Agriculture Minister of Telangana S Niranjan Reddy said under Rythu Bandhu scheme, the State government has spent Rs 35,676 crore, which has benefitted over 59.26 lakh farmers in the last three years since its launch.

In addition, around Rs 2,938.96 crore were spent towards insurance premium amount for execution of Rythu Bhima yojana in the State.

Reddy further said that Telangana was making rapid strides in the farm sector & setting new benchmarks in agricultural production. The minister added that undertanding the importance of agriculture and farmer in our lives, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao launched innovative schemes for the farm sector, which in turn was yielding results.

Reddy said besides completing big irrigation projects such as Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme within 3 years, the State government was implementing schemes like Rythu Bandhu & Rythu Bima to instill confidence among cultivators. Under Rythu Bhima, around 47,168 families of the deceased farmers got Rs 2,358.15 crore from Life Insurance Corporation of India.

Reddy also told that the one-time picking cotton developed by Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) would be introduced in the market benefiting scores of farmers. Telangana stood 2nd in cotton farming in the country with 60.54 lakh acres during ongoing Yasangi season. The State secured top position in India in paddy cultivation with 52.73 lakh acres.

He said, “We also secured top place in crop booking. The Central Government is implementing Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana based on the crop data provided by the State”.
