Anand Agriculture University signed a pact with Dhirubai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar for collaboration in the field of education, research and training in the field of Agriculture.

The MoU will aid the inter-institutional and multidisciplinary collaborations for conceptualizing, creating and conducting an innovative 2 years master’s degree programme in agriculture analytics.

The agreement intends to build successful collaborations by designing and conducting degrees for undergraduate and postgraduate students in areas of mutual interest.

"We will concentrate on teaching, conducting research projects, and guiding students in research, particularly in fields like as artificial intelligence and machine learning," according to a spokesperson. "The goal of this agreement is to jointly conduct seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences, and meetings in order to enable faculty and research scholar interchange in relevant teaching and research programmes," he explained.

The DA-IICT and AAU have already formed collaborative committees to implement the proposed two-year master's degree programme in agro analytics, which includes members from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) in Dehradun.

The programme will be planned, designed, and finalized by the joint committees. "By facilitating multidisciplinary and multi-institutional fields like agriculture and analytics, the programme will be in line with the National Education Policy," stated AAU vice-chancellor Dr. KB Kathiria.

"In recent years, the use of analytics in agriculture is not prevalent. However, it is widely used in non-agricultural domains," he noted, emphasizing that the PG Program on Agriculture Analytics is the first of its type at the national level.
