The BJP has planned to hold a 'Kisan Sammelan' in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh on September 18 in the wake of ongoing farm protests and the Opposition attacks on the BJP government at the Centre and in states over farmer’s issues.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, is expected to address Smriti Upvan in Lucknow, along with a slew of other prominent BJP leaders. On September 17, the party has also chosen to honor farmers and soldiers across the state in celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.

According to Kameshwar Singh, president of the Uttar Pradesh Kisan Morcha, the state chapter of BJP's farmers' wing, at least 50 farmers from each Assembly constituency in the state would attend the gathering to show their appreciation to the chief minister for the steps his government has done to help them.

He also stated that the PM's birthday, September 17, will be celebrated as a "Kisan, Jawan Samman Divas," with each Morcha district unit being urged to secure the attendance and involvement of 71 "kisans and jawans" from each district at the event.

With parties already in real campaign form ahead of next year's Assembly elections, the outreach takes on added significance, particularly at a time when farmers' organizations demanding the withdrawal of the Centre's agricultural laws have scheduled a wave of protests across the state in the coming days.

Government Also Aims for Record Vaccination on PM’s 71st Birthday:

After 88.09 lakh on June 21 and 1.03 crore on August 27, India's next big daily Covid vaccination record is expected to be set on Friday, when ruling BJP leaders have been urged to promote the vaccines and state officials have been told to double the daily rate to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday.

On the Prime Minister's birthday, top officials now admit they're striving for a new peak.

"He is our Prime Minister... on his birthday, we will strive to start a new daily vaccination record," says Dr. Sujeet Singh, the National Center for Disease Control.

The attempt to set a new daily record on the Prime Minister's birthday comes amid increased scrutiny of vaccination numbers and a focus on an ever-increasing target - presently around 1.2 crore doses per day - to vaccinate at least 60% of the population by the end of the year.
