Children of Agricultural Labourers Will Now Get Benefit of Vidyanidhi Scheme

According to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, the State Cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to expand the Vidyanidhi programme to include children of agricultural labourers. In his remarks following the inauguration of a number of development workers and the laying of the first stone for new projects in the Ranebennur Assembly Constituency, he claimed that 4,000 Anganwadi centres had been set up specifically to give children of agricultural labourers access to nourishing food.

Additionally, a Rs. 50,000 scheme for rural artisans has been developed. The CM stated, "The BJP government in the state was working as promised during the election," in reference to keeping promises. As promised, the residents of Ranebennur now have access to drinking water every day of the week.

For the two Medleri and Holeanaveri irrigation schemes, work has been declared, and a total of Rs 206 crore has already been approved. Under the Nagarotthana scheme, Ranebennur received Rs 45 crore, which was a substantial amount.

"In addition to this, a special grant worth between Rs 75 and Rs 100 crore has been approved. As promised in the State budget, a textile park will soon be built. This park will begin operating this year, and it will give employment to about 5000 people,” he said.

He also said that this region's handlooms and powerlooms will receive special programmes. A sericulture market will be established at a cost of Rs 30 crore, as approved by the government.

"Rs 400 crore was sanctioned for the establishment of a medical college in Haveri, which began operating in January this year," the CM stated.

"One lakh acres of land in Haveri, Ranebennur, and Hangal have access to irrigation, demonstrating the government's commitment to the area. He added that several lift irrigation projects will soon be dedicated to the public.
