Farmers of This State to Get Benefit of PM Kusum Yojana

The PM-Kusum scheme will now assist farmers in Uttar Pradesh. They will not only be able to irrigate their crops with solar-powered tube wells, but they will also be able to make some extra money as a result of this initiative.

The scheme, which is part of the Prime Minister's Kusum Yojana's Component-C, aims to increase farmers' income by allowing them to power their own grid-connected tube wells with solar energy.

Farmers can use it for irrigation and then sell the extra electricity to the State Electricity Distribution Company afterward. This plan is expected to power up to 30,000 private tube wells with solar energy by 2022.

According to a government official, the initiative is being conducted by UPPCL/Energy Department. This includes a strategy to generate energy from private grid-connected private tube wells and isolated agricultural power feeders.

Solar Energy Corporation India is developing a free feasibility study for the solarization of all of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation's separated feeders, including those that will be separated in the near future, with a total capacity of 2742 MW.

Solar energy will be a future source of employment for the youth at the local level, given the Yogi and Central governments' attention on it (solar pumps, solar roof tops, solar street lights, solar parks, and transforming Ayodhya into a solar city).

To assist with the Digital India program, the UP Non-conventional Energy Development Agency (NEDA) has developed a smartphone app called "Aditya."

As part of the ambitious Skill Development Mission plan, this software will assist the state's youngsters in acquiring Surya Mitra training and self-employment.

According to Bhawani Singh Khangaraut, the director of UPNEDA, Surya Mitra will supervise the quality maintenance and operation of solar power installations. More than 2,500 Surya Mitras have been trained in the state thus far.
