Government Distributes Farm Equipment to Farmers

The government wanted to reach out to all farmers in the state via the Kalaignar All Village Integrated Agriculture Development Program. On Monday, Minister for Cooperation I Periyasamy presented farm equipment to farmers in Seevalsaragu village in Athur panchayat in Dindigul district as part of the 'Kalaignar All Village Integrated Agriculture Development Programme.'

He has visited an agricultural exhibition at Thottampatti in the Kallimandayam panchayat. The event was attended by officials from the Collector, District Panchayat President, and Joint Director of Agriculture.

Coconut tree seedlings, black gram seeds, hand sprayers, free housing site pattas, electric motors, and other items were distributed to the farmers. Periyasamy added that the DMK administration, which was led by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, established many schemes for the benefit of farmers. M.K. Stalin, the current Chief Minister, claimed he was continuing to work for the farmers' welfare and has introduced an Agriculture Budget.

He stated that the programme will result in the transformation of barren lands into farmlands, the reinforcement of water resources, and the approval of additional loans to farmers through cooperative organizations, among other things.

Periyasamy had previously visited an agricultural exhibition held at the place. Those in attendance were Collector S. Visakan, District Panchayat President M. Baskaran, and Joint Director of Agriculture S Pandidurai.

Similarly, at an event arranged in this regard at Thottampatti in Kallimandayam panchayat, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies R Sakkarapani handed farm equipment. He went into detail about the numerous funds set aside for the district's development, such as education and infrastructure.
