Haryana Government to Conduct an Impact Evaluation of the Doubling of Farmers’ Income in the State
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Haryana, has awarded the mandate to the leading tax, audit, accounting and advisory firm, Mazars Advisory LLP to conduct the assessment.
The Government of Haryana plans to conduct an impact evaluation of the doubling of farmers' income by the end of 2022 and the milestones achieved under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in the region.
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Haryana, has awarded the mandate to the leading tax, audit, accounting and advisory firm, Mazars Advisory LLP to conduct the assessment. The firm announced this through a press release.
The impact evaluation will help the government to look at ways of doubling farmers’ income by 2022 while assessing the efforts under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The outcomes of the study will help eliminate challenges faced by the farmers in the region. Commenting on the mandate, Bharat Dhawan, Managing Partner, Mazars in India said, “We are thankful the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Government of Haryana to entrust us with the task to conduct the impact evaluation.
The agriculture sector is a priority for the government. From the perspective of the economy, it needs strong backing of regular quality insights and evaluation. Access to meaningful data and insights makes the task of policymakers easy. The project aims to provide that support.”
Thanking the Government Department on the mandate, Dr Sanjay Bhardwaj, Practice Leader and Director – Development Sector Advisory, Mazars in India said, “We are delighted to partner with the government on this unique mandate. The report will involve an assessment of all aspects of the support services and Fasal Bima Yojna in the state. Our study will include the assessment of the farmers' income and the income rise over the last four years, the implementation of the various schemes in the state, the fund utilization and satisfaction of services, and linkage of schemes/programmes/services of different departments."
"Based on the evaluation, we will also share a set of recommendations and suggestions for the government. The evaluation will help the government in achieving its objective of increasing the productivity of the agriculture sector in the state in the medium to long term", he further added.
