Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on 7 April 2021 launched “मधुक्रान्तिपोर्टल” and Honey Corners of NAFED in New Delhi. It must be noted that “मधुक्रान्तिपोर्टल” is an initiative of National Bee Board or NBB, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare under the National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM).
The portal is being launched for online registration to achieve traceability source of Honey and other beehive products on a digital platform. Indian Bank is the technical & banking partner for development of this digital platform.
Addressing the launching ceremony Agriculture minister said that Honey Mission will help in doubling the income of farmers, employment generation and increase in exports. He said Sweet Revolution must spread all over the nation and Indian honey should meet global standards.
The online registration or traceability system for source of Honey and other beehive products would help in checking the quality as well as source of adulteration of honey. It will also enable people to know the source of honey & assure quality of the products.
For marketing support to the Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), NAFED has set up 14-15 Honey Corners, one each in five NAFED Bazaar at Ashram, East of Kailash, New Moti Bagh, Panchkula & Mussoorie in their Bazaar or Retail Stores.
More Honey Corners will be set up by NAFED in most of the upcoming major 200 NAFED Stores with the aim to promote market support for honey and other beehive products. Besides, online marketing options would be explored to provide a platform for marketing & promotion of Honey supplied by the FPOs.
