Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) confirms that it has received the esteemed "International King Bhumibol World Soil Day Award" from the United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for bringing issues to light about significance of soil wellbeing among all partners.

The honor was given to ICAR on the event of World Soil Day, on December 5, through a virtual function. India stowed the honor for ICAR's initiative that was attempted back in December 2019, including cooperation of in excess of 13,000 individuals through a web-based social media campaign. Thailand's Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will give away the prestigious award to ICAR in an official event to be held in the coming year of 2021.

ICAR said it coordinated intuitive meetings in colleges, awareness bringing exercises up in schools, shows, screenings, field visits and instructional courses, and contacted all soil stakeholders in the nation as a feature of its mindfulness program.

ICAR put specific emphasis on youth by bringing issues to light about significance of soil for food security and environmental change relief through tests, discussions and on-site exhibitions. ICAR is liable for coordination, direction and the administration of agrarian research and education in the country.
