Indian Railways Starts First Kisan Rail from Telangana! Important Details Inside

The concept of Kisan Rail trains has started last year in India with the objective of raising farmers’ income by providing safe, fast and smooth transport service without any problem. South Central Railway zone has started the first Kisan Rail from the Telangana state.

Good news for farmers! South Central Railway zone has recently started the first Kisan Rail from the Telangana state. It is important to mention that Kisan Rail train services have already started services from Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Beneficial for the Farmers

The concept of Kisan Rail trains has started last year in India with the objective of raising farmers’ income by providing safe, fast, and smooth transport service without any problem. And this initiation became really beneficial in the agricultural sector.

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal mentioned that about 150 farmer trains have been run so far, by which goods more than 50,000 tonnes reached new markets, and farmers got good returns. Kisan Rail train services have already started from Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra last year, and now the South Central Railway zone recently started the first Kisan Rail from the state of Telangana.

Started on February 8, 2021

According to South Central Railways, from Telangana, the first Kisan Rail started on February 8, 2021, with the objective to assist the agricultural sector in marketing their produce for good prices with cost-effective transportation. The Kisan Rail was loaded with Turmeric from the Warangal railway station in the Secunderabad division.

The zonal railway mentioned that the train was loaded with 230 tons of dry turmeric in as many as 10 parcel vans and it is being transported to Barasat railway station of Sealdah division in West Bengal.
