It is not as simple as it appears to cultivate and raise your own fruits and veggies. It necessitates a lot of effort, devotion, and, most importantly, a lot of enthusiasm. We have seen folks spend months or even years growing their vegetables.

But Kazuki Maeda of Kumamoto, Japan, has taken his passion for farming to new heights. He developed a pomelo that weighed more than 5kg earlier this year. That's not all. The fruit also made history by being inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records. On the 20th of January 2021, the pomelo's weight was verified.

According to the Guinness World Records official website, this pomelo weighed 5,386 grams and had a diameter of 27.15cm and a height of 23.1cm.

Pomelo is a citrus fruit that contains a variety of health-promoting elements. It is high in vitamin C, minerals, and antioxidants, and it aids in the prevention of free radical damage as well as weight loss.

Pomelo can be eaten as it is. However, if you ask us, we prefer to put it into a light salad. You want to know how we do it, so we will tell you. Simply combine pomelo seeds, tomatoes, and freshly chopped coriander leaves in a bowl, season with garlic, lime, vinegar, and a touch of sugar. Serve with toasted peanuts as a garnish. We also like to toss in some toasted prawns.

If you are searching for something more Indian, a mustard oil pomelo mix is a good choice. Simply place the pomelo in a bowl with the green chilies and coriander leaves. Then toss it with a liberal amount of mustard oil, salt, and sugar. And there you have it! You'll get a wonderful desi-style pomelo chaat that's ready to eat.
