Kisan Credit Card Latest: How PM-Kisan Beneficiaries Can Easily Get Loans Through KCC; Details Inside

Good news for farmers amid lockdown. The Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made the process of making Kisan Credit Card (KCC) very easy for the beneficiaries of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Farmers can easily get loans for fertilizer, seeds etc. through the Kisan Credit Card.

Through the Kisan Credit Card, farmers can take short-term loan of up to Rs 3 lakh. Though the loan is available at the rate of 9 percent, but the government gives a subsidy of 2 percent on it and if the farmer returns the loan amount on time, then he gets a further rebate of 3 percent. This means he has to pay only 4 percent interest on the loan through Kisan Credit Card.

Scheme to provide KCC to 2.5 crore farmers

The government has decided to give Kisan credit cards to 2.5 crore farmers registered under PM Kisan Yojana. The interest rate for the Kisan credit card loan will be very low. In the current financial year, the government will disburse loan worth Rs 2 lakh crore to the farmers. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced it under the Covid-19 economic package.

The government has launched several schemes in the last few years to double farmers' income by 2022. One of these schemes is Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The scheme is very beneficial for small and marginal farmers of the country and is popularly known as PM-Kisan. Under this, the government provides financial assistance of Rs 6000 to the farmers every year. This money is sent directly into the bank accounts of farmers. In addition, the money comes in three installments of Rs. 2000 each.

To make the registration process easier for farmers government has also developed a website https://pmkisan.gov.in/.

In this website, there is a section called ‘Farmers Corner’ wherein you can register yourself for the scheme, correct your details, check payment status and beneficiary list. In the menu bar you will see download KCC form option from where you can easily get the Kisan credit card form. After downloading KCC form, it has to be filled carefully and submit it at the nearest bank. Once the Kisan Credit Card is ready, the bank will inform the farmer and will sent to his address.

How to apply for Kisan Credit Card?

Step 1 - Visit the official website of your respective bank - SBI/Axis Bank/HDFC/PNB/ Others

Step 2 – Look for ‘Apply for KCC’ online and then Download & Print Application Form

Step 3 - Fill the form correctly

Step 4 – Then submit the application form to nearest branch of the Bank
