KVIC Records Highest Ever Single-Day Sale of Rs 1.34 crore at CP Outlet, New Delhi
The Khadi Movement was started by Gandhi ji for reasons that were not just political but also economic, cultural, and social. Our Prime Minister has worked to promote Khadi and other village industries products to the general public, carrying on Mahatma's vision.
The CP Outlet of Khadi India set a new record for Khadi sales in a single day on October 2 of this year. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people to buy Khadi and Village Industries products on numerous occasions in national and international forums and has spoken about promoting this sector, which was stagnant in 2014.
The sale of Khadi has increased dramatically since the new government took office. It is also worth noting that, since October 2016, one-day sales at Khadi India's flagship store in Connaught Place, New Delhi, have exceeded Rs 1.00 crore on several occasions. The Prime Minister has repeatedly mentioned this in his radio talk show "Mann ki Baat."
The Prime Minister's message of adopting Khadi and financially supporting poor spinners and weavers reached every nook and cranny of the country via the radio broadcast programme "Mann Ki Baat," and the impact of this was seen in this Gandhi Jayanti, i.e. 2nd October 2022 sale.
The Khadi India Showroom in Connaught Place, New Delhi, sold Rs. 1.34 crores in a single day, breaking its previous record of Rs. 1.01 crore set on October 2, 2021. Previously, the highest single-day sale of Khadi was Rs 1.29 crore on October 30, 2021.
Gandhi ji founded the Khadi Movement for economic, cultural, and social reasons, not just political ones. Continuing Mahatma's vision, our Prime Minister has worked to promote Khadi and other village industries products to the general public.
It is also due to our Prime Minister's popularity and the people's respect for him that the people of India have come out in full support of Khadi. The call to assist poor artisans in lighting lamps on Diwali is supported by reality.
According to the Chairman of KVIC, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to buy Khadi in "Mann ki Baat" on September 25th, 2022, before October 2nd, has played a significant role in achieving this benchmark record sale.
In response, KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar attributed the increase in Khadi sales to the Prime Minister's continued support. He stated that because of the Prime Minister's appeal, a large number of people, particularly the youth, have been influenced to purchase Khadi.
