Ministry of Agriculture Starts Campaign To Highlight Farm Sector Accomplishments
More than a crore farmers and stakeholders are scheduled to take part in the campaign via direct (offline) and virtual (online) channels across the country.
This week i.e. from April 25-30, the Union Agriculture Ministry will hold a campaign to highlight the achievements made in the agriculture sector since independence and to raise awareness about the numerous programs administered by the Centre for the benefit of farmers.
According to an official announcement, the campaign 'Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmikta Hamari' is being organised under the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' in collaboration with various other ministries.
Over 1 crore farmers and stakeholders are scheduled to take part in the campaign via direct (offline) and virtual (online) channels across the country.
The campaign's outreach will be carried out through print, electronic, and social media, as well as the development of audio video clips, jingles, and short video films, in order to generate widespread awareness and publicity.
Various farmer-centric campaigns, workshops, programmes, seminars, and webinars have been planned by the agricultural ministry during the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The ministry is holding the Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmikta Hamari campaign from April 25 to 30, 2022, in this regard, according to the release.
During the campaign, the ministry will highlight agricultural growth milestones in India's 75-year history.
Green revolution and food grain self-sufficiency; greatest producer of horticultural crops; improved crop irrigation; use of ICT in agriculture; use of remote sensing/GIS/Drones in agriculture are among the milestones.
The use of biotechnology in agriculture, as well as advances in farm mechanisation, soil health management, and effective pest management, will be highlighted.
Various major initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana will also be highlighted in the campaign.
During the campaign, the ministry will also raise public awareness and highlight accomplishments in programmes such as the Kisan Credit Card, agriculture credit, e-National Agriculture Market (e-NAM), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Soil Health Card, and Organic and Natural Farming.
The country is commemorating the 75th anniversary of its independence with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a mass festival led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The festival will run across the country from March 12, 2021, to August 15, 2023, a year after the country's 75th anniversary of independence.
